South East loses out in producing Nigeria's next Senate President

According to political analysts, the South East has lost the opportunity of producing the next Senate President or the Speaker of the House of Representative in the Gen Buhari-led administration come May 29th. According to political calculations, anyone who is to occupy these positions must come from the ruling party. Since the number one and two positions have already been taken by Gen Buhari a Hausa man and Prof Osinbajo, a Yoruba man, the Ibos were favored to produce the third key official, the Senate President.

But with all the 15 senatorial seats in the South East states of Anambra, Abia, Imo, Enugu & Ebonyi won by the PDP in last week's elections, the Ibos may have lost out in producing the next Senate president. Senator Chris Ngige representing Anambra Central senatorial district who many believe was being positioned by the APC to be the next Senate President lost his bid to return to the Senate to PDP's Uche Ekwunife

Villagers near Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh in India, have flocked to see the 'divine' girl with the deformity resembling an elephant's trunk in the belief she is an incarnation of the elephant-headed god Ganesha.

According to Asian News, doctors told the villagers the girl's condition may well be a genetic mutation. The newborn's aunt, named as Rajani, told the news agency: "My sister-in-law gave birth to a girl and her face looks exactly like Lord Ganesha. Everybody is saying she is an incarnation of the god. This is why whoever hears about her is coming here to get a glimpse of the baby and are making whatever offerings possible."

Buhari's govt may be vicious - Asari says, threatens to go back to the creeks

Asari expressed his fears in a statement released by his spokesperson, Rex Anigoro yesterday April 1st.
"The conditions that advanced the need to embrace the creeks have been sadly re-energised. It is clear that a vicious government who may maim and murder the voice of the so-called minorities may have just been birthed. Indeed integration is non-existent as regional gang-ups and supremacy is symbolic with this victory" the statement read.
