Top Kannywood actress Rahama Sadau, who was expelled from the Hausa film industry, is finally speaking out.

The Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MOPPAN) expelled Sadau for hugging and cuddling in a romantic musical video by Jos-born musician, ClassiQ. In a statement issued today, the actress said she was only carrying out her role as an actress and takes full responsibility for her actions. See the full statement

42 year old Princess Hassa, the daughter of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, King of Saudi Arabia, has fled Paris, France, after allegedly telling her bodyguard to 'murder a painter and decorator' over the weekend.

There was a fire outbreak at Odo Eran Shopping Complex, Agege, Lagos, on October 3rd. According to the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), who received a distress call from the scene, preliminary investigation revealed that the fire started from one of the shops within the premises. Chemical items used for manufacturing paint were inappropriately stored and the inferno started when it came in contact with other inflammable items.

Award winning American gospel singer Kirk Franklin's eldest daughter Carrington tied the knot with her college sweetheart, Max on Saturday, October 1, in Dallas Texas.

The Court of the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, has ruled against the arrest and continued detention of former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, describing it as unlawful and arbitrary.
Delivering judgement today in a suit filed by Dasuki, the court ruled that the further arrest of Dasuki by security agents on November 4th last year after he was granted bail by a court of law, amounts to a mockery of democracy and the rule of law.

Kenyan police have arrested Mohammed Alfayo pictured above who took to his Facebook page to share a photo of a girl said to be 10 years old, whom he claimed he had sex with(read here). Mohammed who bragged that he is a sex addict, is currently now in police custody. Police say he would undergo mental examination to determine the level of his sanity.

The pedophile in one of his posts, asked the little girl to lift her top up so he could take a photo. He is said to be the son of a local Member of the County Assembly (MCA). A page, "Arrest Mohammed Alfayo" on Facebook has been launched where many Kenyans are demanding for his arrest.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino suggests changing World cup from 32 teams to 48 teams

Gianni Infantino, president of the World Football's governing body, FIFA has suggested starting up a 48 team World Cup tournament, saying adding 16 more teams to the competition would see a playoff round added prior to the group stages of the world cup, with the 16 defeated nations going home after playing just one match.

Senate President Bukola Saraki today announced an 8-members Ad-hoc Committee that would investigate the plight of the IDPs in Nigeria. According to Saraki, the Ad-hoc committee member are Senators Shehu Sani, Oluremi Tinubu, Ben Murray-Bruce, Ali Wakili, Theodore Orji, Yahaya, Tayo Alasaoudura Solomon Olamilekun and Yahaya Abdullahi.

Pakistani man admits to killing his 18yr old sister for marrying a Christian

Mubeen Rajhu, 24, from Lahore, Pakistan has admitted murdering his 18yr old sister, Tasleem in an 'honour killing' because she married a Christian man. In August, Rajhu who is from a poor neighborhood discovered his sister had married a Christian and went to confront her, he shot her in the head after she refused to back down.

The US on Monday revealed that it is "suspending its participation in bilateral channels with Russia" saying Russia has failed to keep up to it's part of the cease fire agreement in Aleppo, Syria.

According to the US, all it's relations with Vladmir Putin's nation has been suspended, a decision they didn't take lightly.

Hussaini was accused of having a child with a married neighbour after her divorce. Hussaini claimed she was a victim of repeated rape by the man. A US-based Nigerian woman Temitope Adebamiro, who allegedly murdered her husband has pleaded guilty to manslaughter and a weapons offense.

Adebamiro, 36, entered the plea to manslaughter and a weapons offense in Superior Court in Wilmington on Sept. 16. Her attorney said she was able to plead to the lesser murder offense under a section of the code for extreme emotional distress. Now, instead of proceeding to trial as planned for mid-October, she faces four to 50 years in prison at a sentencing in December.

Four police officers have been reported dead following an attack on a police station in Igumale, Ado Local Government Area in Benue state. The attack according to residents occurred in the early hours of Sunday October 2nd. The gunmen who are yet to be identified, carted away many guns and ammunition.

Police arrest cemetery worker found with human skulls in Ogun state

Men of the Ogun State State Police Command have arrested a cemetery worker named Oluwatosin Akorede who was found with two human skulls. Akorede was arrested at Isale Oko area of Sagamu, on Sunday, October 2nd at about 7.00 p.m.

The former President and the former vice president met at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Internationl Airport, Abuja over the weekend.

EFCC returns seized 48 houses belonging to former Bayelsa state governor, Timipre Sylva

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has returned 48 houses seized from former Bayelsa state governor, Timipre Sylva. The antigraft agency during the Jonathan administration in 2013, had dragged Sylva before a Federal high court over allegations of misappropriation of N6.46 billion state funds when he was governor of the state between 2009 and 2012. His assets were subsequently seized during his trial.

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, who is currently enmeshed in a budget padding scandal, was conspicuously absent at the Independence Day celebration which held in Aso Rock Abuja on Saturday.
