Adams Oshiomhole, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has declared that it was tough uprooting the political structure of former Senate President, Bukola Saraki in Kwara State.
Oshiomhole explained that Saraki was the “smartest political player and seasoned smart guy”, hence uprooting his structures in the state was tough.

17 Nigerian nationals and one Ugandan were arrested on Sunday night, in connection with the attack on police personnel by a group of African men, while on duty at the Flora Damansara apartment in Petaling Jaya, Kuala Lumpur, last Thursday.

NATIONAL Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, yesterday, said President Muhammadu Buhari demonstrated his democratic credentials of an inclusive government by nominating two ministers from a state that gave him less than five percent votes in the last election.
Oshiomhole also said the ruling APC had performed better since he took over as national chairman of the party. Speaking to State House correspondents after meeting behind closed doors with President Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Oshiomhole dismissed criticisms over the quality of the ministerial nominees and the manner of screening by the Senate.
Asked to comment on the credibility of the appointment process, he said: “Whose credibility? How credible are some of those who are talking? The point is that I don’t know if there is a Nigerian who knows every Nigerian.

Former NULGE chairman kidnapped on his way to farm in Edo

A former chairman of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) Akoko-Edo branch, Alhaji Jimoh Olumoye, has been kidnapped on his way to farm.
Alhaji Olumoye was abducted along Igarra-Okpe Road on Sunday afternoon while driving in his car to pick his children from the farm.

Court remands 10 masquerades in prison for attacking police station in Benue State

A Makurdi Magistrates’ Court has ordered 10 men who allegedly attacked a police station in Ado Local Government Area of Benue State to be remanded in prison pending legal advice.
The magistrate, Ms Rose Iyorshe, did not take the plea of the suspects, but remanded them in the Makurdi Medium Prisons. The police preferred against the suspects four counts of criminal conspiracy, trespass, attempt to commit culpable homicide, mischief and an act of terrorism.

Nigerian drug peddler arrested in India with 200 gram of heroin

Police in Ludhiana, Punjab's Khanna district have arrested a Nigerian drug peddler and recovered 200 gram of heroin from his possession.
The accused, identified as Ezeke of Imo state, resides at Phase-5 in Uttam Nagar West in New Delhi.
Superintendent of police, Jasvir Singh, said the accused was arrested at a checkpoint on the national highway in Doraha on Thursday, July 25.

Four kids injured as another building collapses in Lagos

A two-storey building has collapsed on 30, Ososa Street in Bariga area of Lagos State leaving four children severely injured.
We learnt that injured toddlers are siblings, comprising twin sisters (Taiwo and Kehinde) and their brother, Idowu and another boy whose identity could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report.
It was learnt that the incident occurred at about 9.30 pm on Sunday when the emergency command and control room was alerted through the toll free line 767/112. Confirming the incident, the General Manger, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr Olufemi –Oke Osanyintolu, said that those injured had been taken to the hospital for treatment.

SOLDIERS BRUTALISE MEN WEARING DREADLOCKS IN ABIA


Aba, the commercial hub of Abia State, was on Saturday thrown into panic as masked soldiers reportedly arrested, flogged and shaved off the hair of young men wearing dreadlocks and those with bushy and tinted hair.
It was gathered that the soldiers also took the young men to an unknown destination.
Some residents, who witnessed the incident, said they were afraid that another season of Operation Python Dance might have commenced in the state, adding that the inhuman treatment meted out to the young men and innocent youths was uncalled for.
