Two white South Africans arraigned in court for forcing black man into coffin


Willem Oosthuizen and Theo Martins Jackson pictured above were this morning arraigned before the Middelburg Magistrate Court in South Africa on charges of assault and kidnapping. The men were captured in a viral video showing them forcing a black man into a coffin while threatening to put a snake and petrol inside the casket.

 Rivers State Government on Tuesday concluded the first phase of the State Amnesty Programe, with Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike disbanding all vigilante committees in all communities of the state.

The governor also directed security agencies to henceforth go after all cultists and kidnappers who refused to voluntarily accept the amnesty offer of the state government, pointing out that his administration has zero tolerance to crime and criminality.
The governor spoke at the Government House, Port Harcourt during the submission of the report of the Rivers State Amnesty Programme. The State Amnesty Committee had its membership drawn from the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian Navy , the Nigerian Police and the Department of State Services.

Three confirmed dead as trucks go up in flames at Kara Bridge, Lagos-Ibadan expressway

 
Two trucks went up in flames this morning at Kara bridge by Berger bus stop along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway. Burnt bodies of some of the occupants of the truck and some passersby have been spotted in the river under the bridge. Men of the Lagos state Emergency Management Agency have arrived the scene of the incident. See more photos from the scene of the incident 

Atiku Abubakar haunted by his corruption demons' - Nasir El-Rufai


Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in his recent interview with EFCC quarterly magazine, Zero Tolerance, reacted to the allegations of corruption leveled against him by Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, in his book, "Accidental Public Servant". In the book, El Rufai accused Atiku of using his office as Vice President for corruption and self aggrandizement. 

Yoruba actress, Kudirat Ajimat passes away


Yoruba actress, Kudirat Ajimat has passed away. A statement released by Theatre Arts and Movie Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Ogun State Chapter, on Tuesday confirmed the news of her death. Part of it read:
"The news of her death got to us this morning as a shocker but we don’t have power to stop God from doing what is right in HIS sight. We will seriously miss you and your friendly lifestyle. RIP."

Police arrests man for killing his 16-yr-old step-daughter and selling her head to his son for N3,000

The Ogun state police command have arrested 63-year-old man, Korede Odubela pictured left, for allegedly killing his 16-year-old step-daughter, Amudat Oshimodi, and selling her head to his son, Seun, a herbalist, who allegedly paid N3,000 as first installment.
