These are the photos of the two women (left) suspected of stealing $750,000 worth of jewelry (including the watch inset) from New York Knicks star Derrick Williams (right) have been released by police. The alleged thieving temptresses were caught on a surveillance camera as they left New York City club Up & Down on December 19 at around 5am to head over to Williams' bachelor pad in the city's Tribeca neighborhood. Both suspects, who are wearing short, tight dresses with one in a cropped jacket, have been described as 'persons of interest.' Anyone know them?

The Appeal court sitting in Abuja has upheld the election of Delta state governor, Ifeanyi Okowa. Labor party candidate in the election, Great Ogboru had petitioned the court, challenging Okowa's election. ‎ In his ruling today December 24th, Justice Uwani Abba-Aji who led other five-man bench, struck out Ogboru’s appeal saying it lacked merit.

43 still missing from Hajj stampede

43 Nigerians are yet to be accounted for in the stampede and crane accident that took place in Mina and Makkah, Saudi Arabia on September 11th and September 24th respectively.

A report submitted by the Federal government committee on the 2015 Hajj yesterday, states that 280 Nigerians died in both events while 43 others are yet to be located. A total of 75,081 Nigerian pilgrims participated in the 2015 hajj exercise.

Nigeria Senate President Bukola Saraki on Monday, December 21, met with a delegation of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) headed by Mr. Waheed Odusile, the National President of the organization.

In their discussion, the NUJ asked for legislative support to ensure the robust engagement of journalists in the Nigerian project. The Senate President in his response, reassured the NUJ that the 8th Senate will continue to do everything possible to ensure that the freedom of the press as guaranteed by the Constitution and the laws of Nigeria continue to be upheld. "Journalists and the news media played a vital role in securing the 'Change' that we clamoured for during elections, and their work is crucial to ensuring accountable and transparent governance." Saraki added.

One of the suspects of the gang that abducted the mother of former Finance minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Prof. Kamene Okonjo, has confessed that his gang collected N12 million as ransom for the release of Prof Okonjo in 2013. A statement from the Enugu state police command say the suspect identified as Peter Nweke who hails from Umumba Ndiagu in Ezeagu LGA of Enugu State made the revelation while he was being interrogated over the weekend. A white commercial bus was involved in an accident along the Benin Okada expressway and went up in flames. The driver of the vehicle died instantly and was burnt beyond recognition. Only two of the passengers (a mother and her baby) survived the accident but were badly burnt.

Eye witnesses at the scene said they heard cries of some of the passengers trapped but could not help them due to the heat of the fire.

President Muhammadu Buhari said Monday in Abuja that his administration was taking urgent and appropriate actions to restore order, due process and probity to the procurement processes of the nation's Armed Forces. Speaking at a meeting with the British Secretary of State for Defence, Mr. Michael Fallon, President Buhari lamented that the procurement of equipment for Nigeria's Armed Forces which followed due process in the past, had become open to corruption and shady deals under the last administration.

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode on Monday unveiled plans to transform Ebute-Meta into a tourist haven by establishing a recreation park on the stretch of land overlooking the lagoon, adjacent to the Adekunle axis of the Third Mainland Bridge. The Governor, who said this during the commissioning of Ipaja-Ayobo and Ikotun-Ejigbo Roads as well as an inspection tour of on-going projects across the State, lamented the state of the piece of land which he described as an eye sore from the bridge.

He, therefore, gave the auto mechanics under the bridge seven days ultimatum to vacate the site and remove all abandoned vehicles for the development project to commence in earnest.

A University of Port Harcourt Mechanical Engineering student Edah Oghenekevwe Richard lost his life last night after he was allegedly knocked down by a police van driving one-way.

Kenyan Muslims shield Christians during Islamic sect attack

A group of Kenyan Muslims travelling on a bus ambushed by Islamist gunmen, protected Christian passengers by refusing to be split into groups during an attack by Islamic sect members on their bus which was traveling from the capital Nairobi to the town of Mandera this morning.

The militants ambushed the bus, asked all the passengers to come down, then they asked the Muslims among them to return into the bus while the Christians should stay back.

A teenager who raped and killed his maths teacher while at school faces life in prison after being convicted. A Massachusetts jury on Tuesday found him guilty of raping and murdering his 24 year old teacher, Colleen Ritzer, at his suburban high school in 2013, after about nine hours of deliberations.

The teenager’s defence lawyers claimed he was in the midst of a psychotic episode when he stabbed her 16 times in the neck in the women's bathroom.
Prosecutors said the schoolboy, who was 14 at the time, used a box cutter to brutally stab the 24-year-old, before using a recycling bin to take her body into the woods.

The National Human Rights Commission, NHRC on Tuesday, has set up a Special Investigative Panel to investigate the circumstances that led to the bloody clash between the Nigerian Army and the Shiite Muslim sect in Northern Nigeria.

The clash, which took place during the weekend, took the lives of seven people and injured 10 others.
A statement by the commission, said the panel was set up by the Executive Secretary of the NHRC, Prof. Bem Angwe, following a petition lodged against the Muslim sect by the Nigerian Army and some concerned citizens.
The statement signed on behalf of Prof. Angwe by Mr. Lambert Okpara read:

A High Court in Abuja, yesterday, chaired by Justice Hussein Baba sacked PDP's Acting National Chairman, Chief Uche Secondus ordering him to vacate the Chairmanship seat of the PDP within 14 days.

The court order followed a suit filed by the erstwhile Special Adviser to former President Goodluck Jonathan on Political Matters, Mr. Ahmed Gulak.
The court said that Secondus assumed the headship of the party through an illegitimate process.
