Ex-Niger Gov. Kure’s allies hail Sani Bello’s style of politics

Some associates of a former governor of Niger State, Abdulkadir Abdullahi Kure, on Saturday, commended the incumbent Governor Abubakar Bello on his style of politics.According to Kure’s friends, the seed of politics without bitterness sown by the former governor has yielded fruit in the political lifestyle of the sitting governor.
In a statement by the spokesperson for the group and a one-time Commissioner for Health in Niger State, Datijo Aliyu, praised the state governor for according a “befitting” state burial to the former governor on Wednesday.
The statement read, “We are very grateful to the Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello, for his magnanimity, sympathy and for a well and solemn burial ceremony for our leader and political mentor, Abdulkadir Abdullahi Kure, who passed on, on Sunday January 11, 2017.
“Despite the political divide, the governor and the Niger State Government rose above party differences, provided the needed logistics and above all, stood by the family and ensured a befitting burial for our political icon, our symbol of political unity and apostle of politics without bitterness.
“We were highly impressed by the governor’s genuine show of sympathy and his presence to personally receive guests since the death was announced and even when the body arrived on Tuesday night. We acknowledge the respect he accorded our leader in his life time and even at his demise.”
Kure’s associates expressed appreciation to the governor for his role before his predecessor travelled overseas for medical treatment.
“On behalf of all the political associates of late Abdulkadir Abdullahi Kure, we wish to express our heartfelt appreciation.
“What we are witnessing in Governor Abubakar Sani Bello is the emergence of the fruit of the seed of politics without bitterness (that) the late Abdulkadir Abdullahi Kure sowed, nurtured, preached, practised and lived for,” the statement added.
