The iconic cartoon character was unveiled as the 2,627th star at a ceremony Monday, marking the 90th anniversary of the release of "Steamboat Willie," her first of more than 70 animated films.
She was accompanied by her co-star and beau Mickey Mouse who got his bronze plaque on Hollywood Boulevard back in 1978. The two shared a sweet kiss before Minnie greeted the crowd.
"I'm so grateful and I want to thank all my friends from around the world. And Mickey, I'm so happy you're here to share this wonderful day with me," Minnie Mouse said. "This really is the best day ever!"
Walt Disney Co. CEO Bob Iger who also spoke at the ceremony described Minnie Mouse as "the official first lady of the Walt Disney Company" and said the honor was well-deserved.
"After 90 years in show business, it's certainly about time you got your star," Iger said.
According to him, Minnie Mouse first appeared in the 1928 film "Steamboat Willie" and since then, she has been in more than 70 movies.
