BBNaija 2019: 3 Major Controversies That Trailed Khafi

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Khafi got evicted from the show during last Sunday’s eviction on the show.
Khafi who is a UK metropolitan policewoman before her journey into the Big Brother house got evicted on September 15 after spending a total of eleven weeks in the house bringing an end to her journey in the race for the mouth-watering cash prize of N30 million and other rewards bringing the total prize N60 million.

Khafi’s stint in the Big Brother came with its fair share of ups and downs as upon her entry into the house, many viewers of the show began to talk and speculate about her with her job as a constable with the Metropolitan police UK being a major topic of conversation.
Following her eviction, she has announced that she would be moving to Lagos from London and plans to go into acting and presenting.
In this article, we take a look at three major controversies that trailed the 29-year-old native of Ekiti state.
Breaching the rules and regulations
Khafi found herself the centre of conversation in both local and foreign media when news surfaced that her appearance on the reality TV show was without the proper approval from her workplace. It is gathered that she was refused permission by her superiors and accoridng to several UK news outlets, she went ahead with her plans. However, her management said the reports were not only derogatory but sensational and alleged that the UK Sun failed to inquire or get her side of the story before publishing the article.
Furious over her disobedience, one of her professional colleagues said:
“She’s a serving British police officer — it’s outrageous. She asked permission to go on the show but, when her request was refused, she went anyway.”
Lovestruck
A major highlight of the 2019 Big Brother Naija show thus far has been the romantic relationship between Khafi and fellow housemate, Gedoni. The pair’s romance earned them the nickname Khadoni from fans and viewers alike with the duo next to inseparable during their stint on the show. In the post-eviction interview, Khafi said she bonded with Gedoni in the first week because they were both up for eviction. She told Ebuka that she believes he loves her as much she loves him, adding that she was a forlorn lover when he was evicted. Their romance was not without controversy as at one point during the show, Gedoni was heard telling some other housemates that he sometimes eat kiwi, a fruit he knows the smell irritates Khafi to keep her away from him.
Some viewers, as well as fellow housemates, have also speculated that Gedoni’s love for Khafi in the house is not genuine although following his eviction, he reiterated his love for her and made it known he intends to date her outside the show. On her part, she also revealed that she first fell in love with him the first week they were both up for possible eviction. She told show host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu that she believes he loves her as much she loves him, adding that she was a forlorn lover when he was evicted.
Sex or Celibate?
Perhaps the major controversy that has trailed Khafi on Big Brother Naija is the debate as to whether she and her love interest, Gedoni were sexually active during the show. Khafi who revealed to Gedoni that she has been celibate for eight years was first captured in a sexual act with Gedoni on Saturday, July 20, then again on Tuesday, July 23, and again on Monday, July 29.
When asked to address the sex rumours, Gedoni told Ebuka that he was unhappy that the rumour went viral and felt terrible about it as it is unfounded. He added,
“I think I will allow Khafi to ask whether we had sex or not. There were intense moments but sex, no.”
Khafi on her part during a conversation with other housemates revealed that she is still celibate and has no plan to have sex on the show. Another contestant on the show, Ike Oyeama also revealed that he planted a condom by Khafi and Gedoni’s bed as a prank. It sparked rumours that the duo had sex.
