As Nigerians prepare to vote in their leader on February 16, President Muhammadu Buhari’s comrade-in-arms, General Oluyemi Bajowa OFR, has cautioned voters not to trade national interest for personal gains.

Speaking at a seminar organized by the Legacy Forum today, Gen. Bajowa urged Nigerians to avoid the danger of letting the wrong candidate become the President at this trying period.
Calling on Nigerians to support President Buhari’s Next Level agenda, he said, “This great nation needs a selfless and highly disciplined leader with a heart of steel to steer the ship of state at this crucial stage of our nation’s development.
“None of the other candidates has been as tested, let alone being more tested, than Buhari who is without doubt Nigerians most incorruptible leader ever.”
Speaking on the state of the nation and the level of corruption in the country, Gen. Bajowa said, “It is quite unfortunate that certain highly placed individuals whom the nation should naturally look up to for direction and leadership at these trying times have disappointed us and have been found shamelessly reprobating and approbating in order to trade national interest for their personal gains.
“Even the judiciary which is generally believed to be the last hope of the common man has found itself in the unfortunate situation where its integrity is being called to question.”
Gen. Bajowa who is the national chairman of the Legacy Forum had served in 3-Infantry Division of the Nigerian Army with President Buhari under General TY Danjuma in the early 70s. They both served during Gen. Sani Abacha and Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar regimes.
