A trailer belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, over the weekend, killed an ‘okada’ rider after allegedly losing its break around Oke Elesin street, Amuloko area in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.
The trailer, which was said to have crushed the ‘okada’ rider to death, hit nine others who reportedly sustained serious injuries.
However, it was alleged that immediately the accident happened, the driver absconded, abandoning the articulated vehicle.
Reports say it took the combined efforts of the police and others in the neighbourhood to remove the deceased from under the trailer.
