Bayelsa United sack coach for team's poor performace

Bottom of the table - Bayelsa United have sacked coach Evans Ogenyi following a poor Nigeria Premiere League campaign.

The Yenogoa based club's media manager Eddy Ohis revealed to AfricanFootball that the management of the club decided to give the coach the boot due to a series of poor results from the team since his arrival.

"The management has sacked coach Evans Ogenyi. He was asked to go due to poor results because since his appointment, we have not a won a single game," Ohis said.

The erstwhile Enyimba and Lobi Stars coach was brought into Bayelsa by Tony Ogola with whom they achieved great things at defunct Ocean Boys.

Bayelsa, who escaped relegation by a skins hair last season, have not faired better this season as they are second from bottom of the table with 22 points from 25 matches.
