A magistrate court sitting in Effurun in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State on Monday ordered the remand of 51-year old Mr Francis Onyeji in Okere Prison Warri for alleged sexual abuse of a teenage housemaid.
The father of four and a staffer of a Warri-based indigenous oil and construction firm is accused of allegedly having had unlawful carnal knowledge of a 13-year-old maid (names withheld) several times .
The maid and victim, who is said to be a niece of Mrs Chibuzor Onyeji, wife of the accused, was a JSS2 student of a school in Ekpan, adjoining Warri, when the matter came into public glare early last month after it was reported to local police.

However, Mr Onyeji was on Monday arraigned on a single charge, before Magistrate Blessing Ideh for unlawful carnal knowledge and defilement.
Nevertheless, the accused pleaded "not guilty" to the charge read to him and was subsequently ordered to remain in prison custody following the adjournment of hearing of the case till August 25, 2015.
