It was also gathered that in Agatu, home of the Peoples
Democratic Party, PDP, deputy governorship running mate, Mr. John
Ngbede, the assailants stormed some villages at about 5am same day,
killing five local farmers and burning down houses.
When the state’s police command spokesman, Deputy Superintendent John
Bako was contacted, he confirmed the Vaase killings but said he was yet
to be briefed on the Agatu attack.
This is not the first time Vaase is being attacked as it would be recalled that it was among the communities that were sacked when the Nigerian military invaded Zaki-Biam in 2001, in which scores of people were killed with settlements shattered and reduced to rubbles.
