Kanye West Let Album of The Year Winner Beck Finish, But Then He Went Off On Him

Kanye West was just kidding when he pretended to interrupt Beck on Sunday night at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards while the rock veteran was accepting the Album of the Year honor for his critically acclaimed mellow gold release Morning Phase. You see, because Beck beat out Beyoncé‘s equally acclaimed self-titled release, Kanye was a bit heated about the whole situation

Kanye kept his cool, though, and went back to his seat as Jay Z, Bey and wife Kim Kardashian looked on in laughter (and maybe a bit of nervousness). But after the show? Oh, it was ON!

At least Kanye made nice with Taylor Swift, the last person he bum-rushed at an awards show. They were snapped mid-convo during the show, all smiles.

And at this point, we tired of it because what happens is, when you keep on diminishing art, and not respecting the craft, and smacking people in the face after they deliver monumental feats of music, you’re disrespectful to inspiration. And we as musicians have to inspire people who go to work every day and they listen to that Beyoncé album, they feel like it takes them to another place, then they do this whole promotional event that, they’ll run the music over somebody’s speech, the artist, because they wanted commercial advertising.”

Because he was there with Kim and baby North, ‘Ye said he knew better than to try to really take the stage and put his baby at risk like he did in 2009 when he interrupted Swift at the MTV Video Music Awards to argue for Queen Bey’s supremacy. “But I am here to fight for creativity,” he said. “That’s the reason I didn’t say anything tonight.
